Making a personal web page

Some members create a personal web page to give prospective exchange partners more information about their home, their family, the surrounding area and local attractions.  As long as this page is not commercial (ie promoting the property for rent) then we can add a hyperlink to this page on your listing.  Just send the link with your membership number to caroline@homelink.org.uk and we'll do the rest.

You can compose a small site using one of the many free packages available.  These have enough space for a handful of photos and some text and are probably adequate for many members.  If you really want to go to town and create a sophisticated site, then it may be worth investing in some specialist software such as Front Page, but be warned this is not cheap!

Take a look at the following free (or cheap) sites if you think you may like to have a try:

http://geocities.yahoo.com

http://www.wanadoo.co.uk

http://www.tripod.lycos.co.uk/
