Editing your web listing

We really encourage you to edit your web listing to add more information about your home and the surrounding area so that it will appeal to fellow members who may be interested in exchanging with you.

There are two main areas where you can do this: a) the Additional Information section, that allows you to add further descriptive text and b) the Abbreviations section where you can add as many standard abbreviations as you like.  These abbreviations are important as they are automatically translated into the 14 different languages supported by our website, so that overseas members can read about your home in their mother tongue.

To edit your listing:

1. Go to the Main Page (countries) area (on the left hand menu) and log in

2. Click on 'Edit my listing' and the editing page for your listing will appear.

3. The two boxes at the bottom of the page are where you can add further information about your home and the surrounding area.  Click on the guidance note button for further information.

A few final points:

1. Don't forget to keep your preferred exchange date and destination preferences up to date

2. When you have arranged an exchange and are no longer looking, please mark your listing "Have Exchange" using the button on the left hand menu.  This will save fellow members from making you an offer and will save you from replying.  It should also reduce the number of offers that go unanswered as this can be a source of frustration to many members.

3. Please let us know of any changes to your contact details so we can keep our records up to date.

4. Any changes you make to your web listing will not be automatically made to your book listing - please let me know of changes that you'd like to make to your book listing and I'll update our records accordingly.
